Therefore, in order to meet market demand, Yangzhou Zhongtianli has developed a high-purity pseudo boehmite product, which has gradually replaced German Sasol's SB powder in terms of technical indicators. It has now been purchased and used by many manufacturers of automotive exhaust treatment and other catalysts, with significant results.


Overview of pseudo boehmite:

Pseudoboehmite, also known as pseudoboehmite, contains 1 Alumina crystals with 8-2.5 crystalline water molecules, which are the first crystal phase generated during the synthesis of aluminum hydroxide, have incomplete crystal morphology and are AI (OH); The typical crystal form of the transition state is a very thin sheet crystal with folds. Compared with Al (OH), pseudo boehmite has incomplete crystalline water molecules and therefore has many special properties.


Pseudoboehmite molecules have a spatial network structure, large pores, and well-developed specific surface area. They exhibit thixotropy when transformed into viscous colloidal substances in acidic environments. All of these characteristics make pseudo boehmite have completely different uses from aluminum hydroxide.


There are two main production methods for pseudo boehmite:


1. Inorganic aluminum salt method


2. Organic aluminum salt method.

At present, the main production method of Chinese enterprises is inorganic aluminum salt method, which is divided into two categories: aluminum salt neutralization method and carbonization method. This method has simple process, low cost, and low equipment investment. However, impurities such as sodium, halogen, silicon, iron, sulfate, etc. in the product are difficult to control, and the impurity content is high, leading to poisoning of precious metal catalysts during the process of serving as catalyst carriers.


With the increasing demand for catalysts in modern chemical engineering, higher requirements have been put forward for the quality of pseudo boehmite products. With the increase of national environmental protection efforts, the consumption of petroleum refining (desulfurization, denitrification, alkylation) catalysts, reforming catalysts, and production and automotive exhaust purification catalysts has sharply increased. These catalysts require the use of high-purity pseudo boehmite as a binder or carrier. Therefore, the market prospects of high-purity pseudo boehmite are promising, and the consumption will increase year by year.
